Denise Bryant-Lukosius, RN, CON(C), BScN, MScN, PhD. Denise is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and the Department of Oncology and the co-Director for the Canadian Centre for Advanced Practice Nursing Research (CCAPNR) at McMaster University. She is also a Scientist at the Escarpment Cancer Research Institute at McMaster. Denise holds a cross appointment with the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre as a Clinician Scientist and Director of the Canadian Centre of Excellence in Oncology Advanced Practice Nursing (OAPN) – which provides a unique a program of research, education, mentorship and knowledge translation activities to support the development of nursing roles in cancer control. As a health services researcher, Denise is involved in provincial, national, and international initiatives designed to improve patient and health systems outcomes related to cancer and other chronic health conditions. Key areas of research focus on optimization of specialized and advanced nursing roles, evidence-informed decision-making, and the design and evaluation new models of care delivery most recently related to cancer survivorship, urgent care, and primary care. She is the developer of the PEPPA and PEPPA Plus frameworks aimed at improving the design, implementation and evaluation of advanced nursing roles. Denise has research methods expertise relate to implementation science, mixed methods, and participatory action research.
Erika Boman, RNT, Nurse specialist, PhD, Senior lecturer at Åland University of Applied Sciences Finland / Postdoc researcher at University College of Southeast Norway /Guest senior lecturer at Umeå University Sweden
Erika Boman completed her nursing studies at Uppsala University, Sweden in 1997. She has further received a degree as critical care nurse specialist, nurse teacher and MSc, respectively. Clinical work experience is mainly in the area of surgical and critical care nursing. Since 2005 EB is involved in nurse education. In Mars 2016 EB defended the thesis Inner strength as a health resource among older women at Umeå university, Sweden. The thesis and further research is focused on health and well-being among older people, with specific interest in a strength-based nursing perspective and promoting mental health among older persons from a person-centered perspective. Further, EB is involved as a post doc researcher in a project implementing and evaluating advanced practice nursing in Norway.
Rika Levy-Malmberg – RNT, PhD, Nurse Specialist in the field of Intensive care and Trauma. At the present acting as a senior lecturer at Novia University of Applied Sciences Vaasa Finland and postdoc researcher at University College of Southeast Norway. Completed her nursing education at the Hebrew University Jerusalem, MPA at Clark University Massachusetts USA and PhD at Åbo academy Vaasa Finland in 2010. She has been working as senior lecture both in Israel and in Finland. Since 2012 acting as guest lecturer in ANP programs at Turku University of applied Sciences Finland, Umeå University Sweden, and at the University College of Southeast-Norway. Main research areas are clinical decision-making, clinical competence, nursing classification and informatics. During 2017 participating in a project aiming to enhance nursing documentation in Kazakhstan.
